In short: we collect as little as we can, we do not sell your data, and the only thing we really want is your email address — and only if you ask for the newsletter.

01

Who we are

Wearnotes is published by Wearnotes Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, with its registered office at 4 Rivington Place, London EC2A 3BA. For the purposes of UK GDPR we are the data controller for wearnotes.uk.

This policy covers the website, our newsletter and any events we run. It does not cover third-party sites we link to.

02

What we collect

Three things, and nothing else:

  • AYour email address, if you subscribe to the newsletter. Nothing more — no name, no location.
  • BAnonymous analytics: pages viewed, referrer, country, device type. No IP addresses are stored.
  • CAnything you send us through the contact form or by email, kept for as long as the correspondence is live.
03

How we use it

To send you the newsletter you asked for, to understand which stories are read so we can commission more of them, and to reply to you. That is the complete list. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not use your data to train models.

Our lawful bases are consent (newsletter) and legitimate interest (anonymous analytics, correspondence).

04

Cookies and tracking

We set two first-party cookies: one records whether you accepted or declined this notice, and one remembers whether you prefer the light or dark version of the site. Neither is used to identify or track you, and neither is shared with anyone.

Our analytics are cookieless. Affiliate links in The Edit may set a cookie on the retailer's domain once you click through — we label every one of those links.

You can block all cookies in your browser and the site will work exactly as it does now.

05

Who we share with

Our newsletter provider and our hosting provider, both under contract and both in the UK or EEA. Nobody else. We have never sold a mailing list and we never will.

06

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw consent at any time. Every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe that takes effect immediately.

Email privacy@wearnotes.uk and we will respond within 30 days.

07

How long we keep data

Newsletter addresses until you unsubscribe, plus 30 days. Correspondence for two years. Aggregated analytics indefinitely, because it contains nothing that identifies you.

08

Editorial policy

We take no payment for coverage. Everything in a shopping guide has been worn or handled by someone on staff, samples go back, and prices are checked on the day of publication. Where a link earns us a commission it is labelled on the page.

Corrections are made on the story itself with a dated note at the foot. Tell us about one at the contact page.

09

Terms of use

Everything published here is copyright Wearnotes Ltd unless credited otherwise. You are welcome to quote a paragraph with a link back. You may not republish whole articles, or use our photography or text to train a model, without written permission.

We publish in good faith but make no warranty that prices, stockists or opinions remain accurate after publication.

10

Accessibility

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 AA. The site works with the keyboard alone, respects reduced-motion preferences, and ships in both a light and a dark theme. If something on this site is hard to use, write to hello@wearnotes.uk and we will fix it.

11

Contact and complaints

Write to privacy@wearnotes.uk, or to the registered office above. If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

We will post any material change to this policy on this page and note it in the newsletter.
